I recently posted a video using this onion chopper and had so many inquiries about what it was and where to get it, I thought I would share a post with it!  (By the way, you can get it on Amazon and it chops way more than onions).

I think this is the most used tool in my whole kitchen.  I’ve had it for as long as I can remember and it’s been used literally hundreds of times.  There are several brands available, the brand I have is Vidalia Chop Wizard.

It’s one of the gifts I like to give for wedding showers or along with a wedding gift because I just think it’s such a handy tool and one of the few that doesn’t collect dust in my kitchen!

Of all uses, onions is my favorite since it gives the perfect dice (there are different sizes of blades) included.  Not only does it make chopping quick but no more tears!! :D Are you with me on that? (And bonus tip…  if your hands smell like onions or garlic, just wash them with soap and then rub them on your stainless steel sink or faucet.  Voila, no more onion smell).

You already know you can chop veggies with it (perfect for chili; chopping up onion, bell peppers, mushrooms, zucchini) but there are other things you can use it for too!

Egg salad for a crowd?  Couldn’t be easier!  Fruit salad?  Mango Salsa?  Chopped Veggie salad… the possibilities are endless.

You can grab these online at Amazon or even at your local Bed Bath and Beyond.

if you don’t have one of these, you are sorely wasting your time! smile. amen

  2. I am thinking after reviewing your recipe for homemade ricotta that it is cheaper to buy ricotta in the store than to buy the ingredients to make homemade. Although I am sure that the homemade tastes better. Just depends on if I want to splurge on buying the ingredients or not!

    1. I call it a meat chopper (I don’t know if that’s the ‘real’ name) and you can find them here on Amazon or at Walmart!

    2. Try using the Betty Crocker Hamburger Helper meat chopper for the hamburger. It’s available on Amazon. Works great on hamburger and sausage when browning.

  3. I’ve used this chopper for years. I’ve had about three of them. My husband is rough on them. The best chopper ever!

  4. I have a chop wizard and like it pretty well. The only con that it has is the little rubber feet come off. I was dumping the diced veggies into a zip lock and when down found one missing. What a pain trying to find it in the veggies. I glued them on.

    1. Ugh.. I’ve had a few things that lose those little feet and then wobble. Great idea gluing them on, I don’t know why they don’t do that in the first place!

  5. I have a chopper sort of like this. I got it from one of the Television shopping channels a few years back. You are correct, it is the greatest. I have gifted one to everyone I know too. It makes chopping so simple. Thank you for putting this post out there. I think I will share your post with my people too.
